Okay, you’re either a traditional lover or open to change…? No judgement here, just nice to explore options like this unusual purple poinsettia. I get it…it might not be your cup of tea…but you can’t deny that it is quite pretty.
I used three different colors of cardstock to create the poinsettia, Purple Posy cardstock, Highland Heather cardstock and Gorgeous Grape cardstock. Changing up the colors helped to create depth, too. All of the flower pieces were cut with the Poinsettia Dies…they even embossed the veins in the petals. I especially love the gorgeous Beaded Pearls for some card jewelry, LOVE these! They are in my list of Top 10 Faves from the Holiday catalog.
The background was crated using the Parisian Flourish 3D Embossing Folder, I love all the swirls that kind of seem like a winter swirl of pretty snow. The sentiment is from the Poinsettia Petals stamp set and created using the Label Me Fancy punch with an extra layer behind it.
Nice to explore color and ideas, even with the holidays. Sometimes we have to just get creative and see where it leads us. Probably not a color I would choose again for a holiday card, but I have a couple of “purple peeps” that will enjoy it. Let me know in the comments how you like the “purple poinsettia” card. No worries if it isn’t one of your favorites. 😉
Thanx so much for being part of my creativity. I truly hope you get some inspiration here and maybe even learn a few new things along the way.
Cheers!
