What’s New at Stampin’ Up – Retiring Product Parade is here. We’ll be giving you one last chance to see how some of our favorite products can be used before they are gone. Enjoy the blog hop and get a notepad and pen ready to make a list. 😉
This month is a bit sad as all of these showcased products are retiring and going away, boo hoo! I just love this gorgeous Royal Peacock Bundle and I had soooo much fun making this scrapbook page. Oh, do it turned out to be all about me! LOL! 😉
Starting with a Whisper White 12″x12″ cardstock always seems so daunting to me, I just have to do something with all that white space and I sure did here. I started with the Noble Peacock Specialty Paper in several lovely prints on colored foil with a strip on the left side. Next, I played around with Embossing Paste, Bermuda Bay Re-inker, Palette Knives and one of the Basic Pattern Decorative Masks. Using these types of products, always makes me feel like I’m either in 1st Grade or an artist…believe me, it can go either way! I used two of the images and stamped them randoming on the page using the Night of Navy, Old Olive and Bermuda Bay stamp pads, changing up the colors and shapes for depth. A little Frost White Shimmer in a Spritzer, along with a few drops of reinker and alcohol and it added a beautiful shimmer to the whole page. Yes, these all took a little time…I concluded I was in “artist” mode. 😉
Now, on to really putting the page together for my photo and all the gorgeous embellishments. This time I used more of the Noble Peacock Specialty Paper and the Noble Peacock Foil Sheets for all the beautiful color on this page. Everything just looks regal when you use foil, I’m a BIG FAN. The Royal Peacock Dies are on sale right now for only $18.60, you gotta get these ‘cuz just look at those peacock feathers and the beautiful bird, too. For a little more pop, I added some swirls from the Parisian Dies, too. I mounted the photo on Night of Navy cardstock with a piece of the Perennial Essence Designer Series Paper, as the colors were just perfect.
For the journaling area, I used the Stitched So Sweetly Dies changing up colors and shapes. For a bit of bling, ‘cuz why not, right?! I added some Noble Peacock Rhinestones, now only $4.40! I also had some sequins trim retired from a couple of years ago and I was able to use it up on the page. Voila! I am very happy with the final product and I certainly hope you enjoyed designing it with me.
It seems like it’s always nice to the final project at the end of a post after I have enjoyed explaining the process of putting it together. Please comment and let me know your thoughts, even if you don’t scrapbook. Thanx very much!
