Welcome to our Scrapbook Global Challenge for January 2020 Blog Hop!   I am so glad you are here where you will get to check out lots of great creativity.  You are going to love this group and get some terrific ideas, too.  These ladies are talented and want to share the love they have for scrapbooking with you.  This month is a New Beginnings Theme, which means you’ll find great ideas to scrapbook your own photos of new beginnings for you and your family.   Enjoy our hop!

The lovely ladies below are the Design Team members, including our three new Creative Design team members for 2020. They are Maï Chapelain from France, Sherry Roth from Canada and Sharni Haines from Australia!  Welcome and congrats, ladies!

I was the one who selected this theme, as it seemed appropriate for the new year.  This was an easy topic and photo for me to use as my daughter, Elizabeth,  changed careers last year.  She was in IT and moved over to working with drones!  I know, pretty cool, huh?!  She got her FAA license and became a drone pilot and technician…how wild is that!  She loves it.  The photo that was supposed to be on this layout is of her from her class holding a drone, so proud of her!  (I put the photo away several weeks ago until I got the layout completed and now I can’t find it anywhere!! Sigh.  I’m sure it will turn up in the next couple of days, right?!)

Okay, back to the layout.  😉

This new Peaceful Poppies Designer Series Paper is so beautiful, I just had to use it.  It is from our new January-June Mini Catalog 2020.

There is one design page that has this lower pattern across the page and again opposite across the other end of the page.  It lends itself perfectly to very easy cards.  However, when I saw it, I immediately thought it would be perfect for a scrapbook page and this was my chance to use it.  I cut it at 6″ to use half the sheet.  Then I fussy cut the poppies away from the remaining portion with all the splatters and glued it to the top of my Whisper White 12″x12″ cardstock to use for my main page.  It looked a little odd, so I got busy with my Aqua Painter, Poppy Parade stamp pad and Blackberry Bliss stamp pad to provide some color wash onto the page.  I think it added some nice interest.

Next, of course, I needed a title and using the letters from the Hand-Lettered Prose Dies got me started and the “adventure” is from the Sweet Silhouette Dies, just perfect!  Then below is an accent strip from the coordinating Peaceful Poppies Elements.  Please note, there is no stamping on this entire page…unusual for me!

A few little Peaceful Poppies Sequins for some sparkle and a small journal tag from the new Label Me Fancy Label Punch, twice for some accent color.

Nice to do something a little different and not quite so involved.  I tend to like “more” on the page so a little less was a nice change.  I hope you enjoyed my page and be sure to subscribe to my blog posts as I have two more 2-page layouts from this same Peaceful Poppies Designer Series Paper coming soon, I just couldn’t help myself! 😉
