This was a very interesting process to make this card. I had no inclinations one way or the other for the direction and actually designed the card during a Facebook Live Wine Wednesday event. It was a bit nerve wracking, putting myself in front of a camera to design a card, but it worked out quite well. So much so, that I might do it again!
To prepare, I had several products out and available to use for this card. I started with the Painted With Love Designer Series Paper as my launch product (and the Beautiful Peacock stamp set, of course) and the coordinating Powder Pink cardstock and Melon Mambo cardstock. After I stamped the images, I thought they needed something more and this girl loves her bling. And then, of course, I needed to add rhinestones, I realized the image wouldn’t allow it across all points without getting in the way of the bird head. What to do?! Well, stamp another one and pop it up with Dimensionals, of course! Ta da, that’s what I did.
The strong colors of the Painted With Love Designer Series Paper needed the bright inks. I stamped the larger tail behind her in Melon Mambo ink and the body and tail in Rich Razzleberry ink on to Pink Powder cardstock. She definitely needed more, so I added the swirl part also using the Rich Razzleberry stamp pad. They needed to be anchored, so I added the Melon Mambo cardstock layer behind…it still didn’t seem like enough. Then I added a layer of Rich Razzleberry cardstock and we were good to go. Not only do I love bling, but I also love gold! The accent using the Gold Foil Sheet was done with the Decorative Ribbon Border Punch. I love the softness it provides against the strong stripes on the opposite end.
I wanted to make this a birthday card and since the peacock was so pretty, the Happy Birthday Gorgeous stamp set seemed like a great option. This sentiment on the front was just perfect and it says Happy Birthday on the inside with another bit the tail swirl, too. For continuity, I would definitely recommend the same tail swirl on the envelope.
I think she turned out quite pretty. Here is another card I recently made with the Beautiful Peacock stamp set for a Blog Hop.
Again, this was a FREE stamp set and you can get one, too, and you’ll be saying hello gorgeous peacock, too. Shop here.
Thanx for stopping by and I hope you make all your Sale-a-Bration projects A Crowning Creation.
