Even though it isn’t officially Breast Cancer Awareness month, yet I still want to blog this Cancer Card of Courage. Any time is a good time to talk about the importance of being proactive in caring for your breasts. Someone going through Breast Cancer or any other form of cancer is a stark reminder. I made this card to send to some I know battling this disease. With my health history, I know first hand the courage it takes to deal with the challenges of chemotherapy and radiation. You may know someone dealing with this dreadful disease that could use some courage.
The lovely card was made using Powder Pink cardstock, along with Sweet Sugarplum cardstock embossed using the Petal Burst Textured embossing folder. This adds a nice bit of texture on the card front. I stamped the large ribbon and the sentiment onto Powder Pink cardstock using the Embossing Buddy. I followed with the Versamark stamp pad, Gold Embossing Powder and a Heat Tool to melt the embossing powder. What a lovely way to showcase this set. I colored the ribbon in a bit using an Aqua Painter and ink from the Sweet Sugarplum stamp pad for some added color. It was cut using the Support Ribbon framlet set and popped up with Dimensionals. They were added onto a Layered Oval framelit cut out of Powder Pink cardstock. This was set upon Layered Oval framelit scalloped oval of Gold Foil Sheets to accent the gorgeous gold. I love the look of this card and think it makes a lovely cancer card of courage. The photo does not do it justice.
I applied the same technique to the sentiment at the bottom. While moving with a courageous spirit towards recovery, I hope my friend enjoys this lovely card to brighten her day. Why not take a few moments to send a special card of encouragement to someone you know. I am certain they will appreciate your gesture of kindness.
Thanx for stopping by and make all your projects A Crowning Creation!
