Check out this festive Stamped Holiday Candle as my project for the 12 Weeks of Christmas – Week #12. What a great project to make for your home décor or perfect for a last minute gift.
Did you think I actually stamped directly on the candle? I thought that the first time I saw this technique. I was amazed at how this could possibly be done on a curved surface. There’s a trick, of course! That’s why you’re here, to learn about tips and tricks in stamping, right? Who knew you could stamp on white tissue paper and then apply it to a candle. Brilliant, huh?
Here, I stamped using the Sheet Music background stamp using the Basic Gray Archival ink pad. I stamped it off before stamping on the tissue paper, as I wanted a more subtle look. Using each piece of tissue paper, I delicately used a Heat Tool to gently melt it onto the candle after wrapping them both in waxed paper tightly securing me for the heat process. I repeated this process with each piece of tissue. I cut around the individual images and sentiments before applying. You can also heat a spoon to bring burnish on the tissue, although I prefer directly heating the candle.
Using a Real Red ink pad stamping sentiments from the Snowflake Sentiments stamp set provided some vibrancy without too much on my musical themed version here. The little drummer boy is from the Musical Season stamp set.
Adding the Real Red Satin ribbon around the candle is a great festive touch of color.
Wishing you a happy holiday season and thanx for stopping by. I hope you make all your projects A Crowning Creation!
